Chesham Theatre Company presents: “The Titfield Thunderbolt”

An event every day that begins at 7:45 pm, repeating until November 11, 2017
One event on November 11, 2017 at 2:30 pm
Our latest play is based on the classic Ealing comedy, “The Titfield Thunderbolt”, which starred the great Stanley Holloway and harkens back to the simpler days of steam trains and the closure of small branch lines by Dr Beeching. Set in the fifties, it tells the tale of the villagers of Titfield and their plans to buy and run the line themselves or risk losing their commute to work and market, vying for business against Harry Crump, the owner of the local bus service.
Directed by Chesham’s own Trevor Pilling, we see the villagers and Crump go head to head and Crump plays dirty! Who is the mysterious Miss Coggett? Who is lurking about in the dark? Will the vicar get his wish of driving the train? And will the villagers triumph in the end? Starring plenty of well-known local theatre faces, this play is a laugh-out-loud romp with plenty of old-fashioned humour for all the family.
