Colour onto Fabric with Janet Edmonds

Morning 10.00am – 12.00 * Design – Squares and Oblongs

Explore the potential of these simple shapes and create designs to translate into stitching  using decorated papers.

Please bring: a sketchbook or cartridge paper, tissue paper, papers that you have coloured or decorated yourself, scissors, pva glue and brush, Caran D’Ache crayons, a few gel pens or felt pens.

Afternoon 1.00 – 4.00pm ** Stitch – A Return to Darning

Painterly images may be created with this functional method of stitching. Weave a variety of coloured threads into loosely woven fabric to make a simple design. The technique lends itself to landscapes, seascapes or woodland imagery but also architectural shapes.

Please bring: A piece of loosely woven fabric, embroidery hoop, sewing kit, selection of threads to include thick, thin, matt and shiny.
