“Daisy Pulls It Off”
November 7, 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm£13.50 – £15.50
Look out chaps! There’s a new girl in school.
Our plucky heroine Daisy is ready for a topping new term and to take on a jolly ripping mystery in this whizzo family pre-Christmas treat. Can scholarship girl Daisy and her chum Trixie find the hidden treasure at Grangewood School for Girls in spite of beastly, snobbish Sybil and scary Russian music teacher Mr Scoblowski?
Denise Deegan’s fabulously affectionate parody of 1920s schoolgirl novels is certainly not just for the kids!
Very much in the style of ‘The Play That Goes Wrong’, here we watch the fourth form attempting to entertain the rest of the school with great enthusiasm, energy and, most importantly, stiff upper lips. They do their very best but must improvise, break through the barriers of age and gender, use whatever comes to hand and of course have a hockey match!
This play has been popular with audiences since it was first presented by Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1983. With its combination of rehearsed amateurism, fond mockery and physical humour, this production will chase away the winter chills.
Spiffing! Hooray! Here’s a riotous adventure served with lashings of love from Chesham Theatre Company.
Shows Wednesday to Saturday evening, with a matinee on Saturday afternoon
