We have arranged with local land owners to walk areas of the Chess not normally accessible to the public. These are stunningly beautiful areas with wonderful wildlife, a great opportunity for photographers and nature lovers. The walks will start at Latimer Park, Restore Hope and last about 2 hours.
The land owner Restore Hope is a Christian Charity who come alongside children, families and young people who are facing challenging situations, offering support and training that is relevant to their unique situation and needs. The landscape and grounds are extensively used to enable much of this valuable work and as such are not normally open to the public to ensure security and the safeguarding of vulnerable children.
Walk 1 will progress in easterly direction towards Chenies. Most of the outward direction will be on public footpaths but the return will be along the Chess on private paths. There will be stiles to negotiate. You will also require footwear appropriate for wading across the river, wellingtons would be ideal. Date Wednesday 30th May meet in the car park at Latimer Park 7pm.
Walk 2 will progress in westerly direction towards Blackwell Hall. Most of the walk will be on private footpaths in the Latimer Park estate. There will be stepping stones to negotiate. Date Wednesday 13th June meet in the car park at Latimer Park 7pm.
Walk 3 will progress in westerly direction towards Blackwell Hall. Most of the walk will be on private footpaths in the Latimer Park estate. There will be stepping stones to negotiate. Date Saturday 16th June meet in the car park at Latimer Park 7pm.
To help with environmental and conversation projects in improving habitat on the Chess there is a minimum donation of £5 per walker for each event.
All of the funds raised will be used towards conservation specific projects that enhance the programme of activities that the charity offers to the children and families who come to Latimer Park.
Each walk is limited to 20 people, so please contact us to book your places, e-mail Paul Jennings at paul.jennings@talk21.com.
We will have carried out a risk assessment for these events but walkers are responsible for their own safety.
As much as we love dogs we have decided that for these walks that they will be a distraction, so no dogs.
